After School in Manville

The Coffeehouse Project, with the sponsorship of the  Manville Recreation Department, is running a nine-week after school music program for the students of the Alexander Batcho Intermediate School. The program is free to the students, will be held on alternating Friday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm. We had a meet and greet on 1/18 which had 19 students interacting, singing, and playing all manner of percussion instruments. A short, loud and fast punk rock set performed by John and Becca at the top of the session set the tone for what is not your typical music program for middle schoolers.

Marilyn will be co-facilitating this program; bringing her experience as a teacher and peer leadership advocate to provide an extra dimension of music for wellness goals to the program.

If you have a student at ABIS and they’d like to join the (free!) ABIS ROCKS program, please register here. Session dates include 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 5/3, 5/17, 5/31

If you’d like to start a similar Music for Wellness program in your town, please contact John to start the discussion.
