Why are we called The Coffeehouse Project?
Since they first appeared in late 18th century London, coffeehouses have been places where different kinds of people from different cultures come together in a warm, welcoming environment to mingle, share ideas and often to play music, especially “folk” music, the music of the people. It is this spirit of communal music making that THE COFFEEHOUSE PROJECT embraces … and thus our name.
